FTL Pricing - How does it work?

Full truckload shipment prices are based on a rate per mile shipping cost scale, with each shipment having minimum shipping rates. This freight rate cost per mile is determined by shipping and destination locations, the different freight concentrations across the country, and the freight carrier's deadhead mileage from its last delivery. Often times with FTL shipping, there are other contributing factors which also affect the total freight charge.
